Lorenzo Serafini has delved into the realm of romanticism throughout his tenure at Philosophy. For the resort collection, he embraced a minimalistic approach, drawing inspiration from the current fascination with the sleekness of the ’90s to infuse his gentle repertoire with a laid-back twist.

He coined his interpretation of the ’90s trend as “romantic minimalism,” highlighting the need for modernity to reconcile grace with clarity and definition. Accordingly, he maintained slender silhouettes while preserving their softness. Even masculine tailoring, though rooted in sartorial construction, exuded a certain sensuality. Slightly oversized blazers were crafted from smooth and luxurious satin, suitable for both day and evening wear.

Waistcoats made from fresco di lana, a dry wool typically used in menswear, were transformed into backless bibs worn on bare skin or elongated into minidresses. The pantsuit of the season accentuated the hourglass figure, featuring a tight-fitting double-breasted blazer paired with straight knee-length shorts.

Since this collection would be hitting the sales floors in time for Christmas, Serafini dedicated his attention to a series of party dresses that blended flirtatious allure with refined contours. One standout piece was an evening gown in black satiny techno duchesse, boasting a plunging neckline and a sculpted ankle-grazing skirt. It exuded a reminiscent aura of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, with a modern twist showcased by the addition of leather flip flops that added a cool touch.

Embellishments took a backseat in favor of subtle sparkle. As a nod to the ’90s, a see-through stretchy crystal mesh tube dress was layered over a black bodysuit, while textured-denim pants were coated in square-cut sequins.

Ruffles took the place of other decorative elements, appearing as delightful accents on cropped tops, lining loose gilets, or blooming in circular formations on crisp poplin dresses. The aim was to maintain sleekness while preserving the romantic essence of the collection.
