Leo Will Win The Oscar, FWC Called it After Seeing the Trailer For ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’

Martin Scorsese reunites with his longtime muses Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro in the captivating first trailer for Apple’s “Killers of the Flower Moon.” The highly anticipated Western epic is based on David Grann’s best-selling non-fiction book of the same name, which delves into the Osage Nation murders and the birth of the FBI in 1920s Oklahoma. The film explores a series of murders that took place as a result of conflicts over oil rights, with the newly-formed FBI stepping in to investigate. Joining the stellar cast are Jesse Plemons and the breakout star of “Certain Women,” Lily Gladstone.

For DiCaprio and De Niro, “Flower Moon” marks their first collaboration in a feature film since Michael Caton-Jones’ 1993 drama “This Boy’s Life.” Although both actors appeared as fictionalized versions of themselves in Scorsese’s short film “The Audition,” their onscreen reunion is highly anticipated. De Niro earned Oscar nominations for his outstanding performances in Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver,” “Cape Fear,” and “Raging Bull,” winning the coveted award for the latter. DiCaprio, on the other hand, received Oscar nominations for his roles in Scorsese’s “The Aviator” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.” “Flower Moon” will mark the first time all three collaborators come together for a full-length feature.

In “Flower Moon,” DiCaprio takes on the role of Ernest Burkhart, the nephew of a prominent local rancher played by De Niro. Ernest becomes entangled in the Osage Nation murders, and his character is married to an Indigenous woman portrayed by Gladstone. Plemons stars as Tom White, the lead FBI agent responsible for investigating the brutal killings. Originally, the script was conceived for DiCaprio to play the FBI agent, but after a change of heart, he decided to switch roles and portray the morally ambiguous Ernest instead.

The trailer introduces DiCaprio’s character, accompanied by an ominous voiceover: “There are many, so many, hungry wolves. Can you find the wolves in this picture?” As the intensity builds, glimpses of DiCaprio, De Niro, and Gladstone flash across the screen, capturing moments of chaos and violence while blood-curdling screams echo in the background. The trailer’s title card reads, “Greed is an animal that hungers for blood.” Before the teaser concludes, DiCaprio poses the haunting question once more: “Can you find the wolves in this picture?”

The ensemble cast of “Flower Moon” also includes Scott Shepherd, Pat Healy, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi, Tatanka Means, Michael Abbott Jr., Gary Basaraba, Brendan Fraser, and Grammy Award-winning musicians Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson. Scorsese was committed to casting Indigenous actors as members of the Osage Nation in the film. “Killers of the Flower Moon” is set to be released in theaters by Apple and Paramount on October 20th, promising an immersive cinematic experience.
