Burberry’s NEW 2023 Swimwear Campaign is HOTTT🥵
The captivating world of Burberry takes a dive into the realm of swimwear with an alluring photoshoot that has everyone talking. Shot by Lee’s esteemed collaborator, Tyrone Lebon, the campaign features a range of checked bikinis, briefs, shorts, towels, beach bags, and life jackets that embody the essence of summer.
The stunning imagery showcases a group of models including Alex Schlab, Angelina Kendall, Candace Demers, Ishmael Auguiste, Kaedon Baxter, Matheus Mesquita, Sophie Alice, Tess Carter, and Tianna St. Louis as they frolic on a beautiful beach. Some are captured swimming in the crystal-clear waters, while others bask in the sun or enjoy a leisurely boat ride. Throughout the campaign, Burberry’s iconic Equestrian Knight Design, in a striking combination of white and electric blue, makes its presence felt in the black-and-white images. This design holds a special place in Burberry’s history, as it was the brainchild of Christopher Bailey, the brand’s former chief creative officer and a dear friend of Lee.
The original Equestrian Knight Design, depicting a knight dressed in Burberry’s signature attire riding a horse, was chosen as the winning entry in a public competition held around 1901. The design features the Latin word “prorsum,” meaning “forward,” and was introduced by Rose Marie Bravo, the former CEO, and Roberto Menichetti, the creative director at the time. Bailey later embraced and incorporated this emblem into Burberry’s visual identity during his tenure.
In this campaign, the checked patterns take center stage, adorning bikinis, briefs, shorts, robes, towels, bucket hats, beach bags, and life jackets. However, one standout piece stands out with a black bikini accentuated by a charming checked trim. Adding to the allure of the campaign is a captivating short film, accompanied by an original score by Vegyn, renowned for his work on Frank Ocean’s “Blonde” and “Endless” albums.
Before his much-anticipated runway debut, Lee collaborated with Lebon to create these striking visual images for Burberry. The campaign not only showcases Burberry’s swimwear collection but also shines a spotlight on homegrown talents such as Vanessa Redgrave, Shygirl, Skepta, and the English footballer Raheem Sterling. Against the iconic backdrop of Trafalgar Square, home to the National Gallery and Nelson’s Column, and the majestic Albert Bridge, named after Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria, Lee’s vision comes to life, celebrating the spirit of British creativity.
With this captivating swimwear campaign, Burberry once again demonstrates its mastery of combining heritage, style, and innovation, setting new trends and captivating the world of fashion.
