As summer approaches, the Blumarine girl emerges in a vibrant display of colors. Nicola Brognano, the designer behind Blumarine, presents a self-assured collection that takes a turn from the previous seasons.

Gone are the gritty aesthetics; instead, a more elevated and sensual energy takes center stage, exuding a sense of joyousness and a summer vibe. Drawing inspiration from the label’s archive, Brognano explores a calmer color palette of nudes, pale pink, light blue, and white, injecting them with brighter vibrations.

The collection showcases ultrashort, body-skimming silhouettes crafted from viscose jersey, providing a smooth and fluid surface that allows for wrapping, draping, and sash-knotting. Complementing the barely-there minidresses, stretchy leggings in matching hues elongate the figure, creating a lean monochrome silhouette.

Brognano revitalizes a past Blumarine lingerie look, infusing it with a bold and provocative twist. A tight-fitting bustier and leggings ensemble, featuring stretch jersey and lace inserts, becomes the season’s “new suit proposition.” This concept extends to a black tailored blazer and miniskirt adorned with buckled garters that dangle at the hem, presenting a departure from traditional Savile Row aesthetics.

Roses, an emblematic motif of Blumarine, undergo the Brognano treatment. Laser-cut and appliquéd on a white minidress or printed on a hot-pink mesh tube dress, the roses exude a thorny and untamed allure rather than a meticulously manicured garden aesthetic.

The collection also reimagines Blumarine’s ubiquitous cargos, offering a simplified evening version. Black canvas trousers with satin intarsia represent a subtle shift in the approach to the Y2K trend that originally put Brognano’s Blumarine on the fashion map.
