Zuhair Murad’s vision is filled with stars, both in his collaborations and his inspirations. While his collaboration with Taylor Swift continues to shine, for the resort collection, the designer turned his gaze towards two iconic Hollywood figures: Joan Crawford and Raquel Welch. Drawing inspiration from their super-sexy heydays, Murad presented a collection that merged 1920s opulence and ’70s sultriness, with subtle nods to Art Deco icons like New York’s Chrysler and Empire State buildings. (A closer look reveals that Murad’s initials are cleverly incorporated into the designs as well.)

Surprisingly, many of the looks in this collection showcase Murad’s minimalist side. He allows bold colors—such as fuchsia, periwinkle, and yellow—and negative space to take center stage, occasionally enhanced by the shimmering allure of diamanté coils. Macramé and lace are skillfully blended, creating tonal effects on pieces like a yellow off-the-shoulder bohemian dress or a sophisticated white dress with long sleeves, a tiered skirt, and a lavaliere collar.

Although not visible in the presented images, many of these looks feature backless cuts, designed to make a dramatic entrance and an equally theatrical exit. For those seeking a touch of cover, Murad introduced a sharp-looking trench coat this season—a new venture for the designer that will surely be appreciated by his clients in colder climates.
