Ralph Lauren’s Purple Label collection made a triumphant return to the stunning green marble Milan palazzo after a four-year hiatus. The epitome of American luxury, Ralph Lauren reigns supreme in numerous fashion categories, and Purple Label, shaped by the man himself, proudly carries the “Made in Italy” label.

As guests passed the atrium adorned with a custom Jaguar XK120, they were greeted by Champagne-wielding waiters on the staircase. Upon reaching the piano nobile, Lauren representatives were present to guide visitors through the collection, which could be divided into three sections: latte, navy, and rainbow resort.

The latte section showcased deconstructed and unlined formalwear, including linen and flecked shantung silk double-breasted suits with peaked collars. Notable pieces included a striking sports jacket with pleat shoulders in silk/linen herringbone, worn over a v-neck herringbone sweater in coffee shades, complemented by an impeccably folded coffee check tie with a tie-pin. Relaxed looks featured a handmade cotton/silk faded Fair Isle and Basque knit sweater paired with white pants, as well as a suede field jacket, transitioning to the navy section.

In the navy section, suede trucker jackets and cropped linen herringbone bleus de travail took center stage, alongside elevated denim suiting—a bold move for Purple Label—and a classic pre-WFH Wall Street pinstripe suit.

The final section beckoned from another room, but before reaching it, attendees were enticed by the new line of accessories named Bedford. Crafted from aniline leather with saddle stitching, the collection included burnished grip bags featuring interior “grab and go” canvas baglets, a backpack destined to age beautifully, and stylish ‘RL’ sandals.

The rainbow room presented a vibrant mix of jackets, pants, and resort wear in bird of paradise colors, all designed to be mix-and-matchable. These pieces, styled with velvet slippers and intriguingly, espadrilles, catered to Purple Label’s growing category of non-traditional evening wear, designed to make a splash. Luxury was unquestionable, but quietness took a back seat.

The most fitting label for this collection was simply Ralph Lauren, embodying a multitude of cinematically masculine archetypes flawlessly executed by the hands of menswear’s finest artisans.
