Giorgio Armani has delved into his life’s work in his new autobiography titled “Per Amore,” published by Rizzoli. While his name graces the label of his eponymous high-end House in Milan and his global fashion group, which achieved remarkable sales of €2.35 billion EUR last year, Armani now takes readers on a journey through the path that led him to his immense success.

Following the release of his photo-centric coffee-table book, “Giorgio Armani,” in 2015, this new autobiography delves deeper into the personal life behind the iconic designer. Armani shares insights into his youth, the individuals who played significant roles in his life, and his early career, while also discussing his ongoing fascination with the modern world.

Within the pages of “Per Amore,” Armani imparts a wealth of wisdom, offering philosophical reflections on what it truly means to be a “creative” in the fashion industry. Alongside his unfiltered thoughts, the book features personal photographs capturing moments from Armani’s life spanning the 48 years since he founded his eponymous label.

“I chose a title that is both gentle and provocative, reflecting my character surprisingly well. I am pragmatic and rational, yet my actions are driven by the heart,” writes Armani in the book. “That’s why the scattered thoughts gathered in this book are written ‘out of love.'”

Interestingly, Armani initially had reservations about penning his autobiography, but following the success of his 2015 book, he recognized the value in sharing his stories. “It can be useful to many, in different ways,” he stated, as reported by WWD. “To those aspiring to work in fashion, perhaps, but also to those who are simply curious.”
