Dior Will Present Its Cruise Collection in Mexico

The French luxury fashion house Dior is set to unveil its latest cruise collection in Mexico City on May 20, following its pre-fall show in Mumbai earlier this year. The exact location of the event is yet to be disclosed.

The brand’s artistic director of womenswear collections, Maria Grazia Chiuri, plans to collaborate with local craftsmen and women on the collection, continuing her tradition of highlighting the artistry and culture of the destination. The event has the potential to boost tourism revenues in Mexico. Dior previously held its 2019 cruise collection show in the royal stables of Domaine de Chantilly, France, featuring female Mexican rodeo riders.

The luxury brand held its latest cruise show in Seville, Spain, last year, and in Athens, Greece, in 2021. Despite the pandemic, Dior has maintained a steady pace of physical events, including runway shows in Seoul, South Korea, and men’s events in Los Angeles and Cairo, Egypt.

Dior spokeswoman confirmed that the brand had previously staged presentations in Latin American countries, including Mexico, in 1954.
